What is collected when you visit, who processes it, and what you can do about it.
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit Baseball Scorigami at baseballscorigami.com (the “Site”), why it is collected, which third-party services process it, how cookies and similar technologies are used, and the choices available to you.
The Site is an independent, non-commercial baseball project. There is no account system, no newsletter, and no contact form. You are not asked to provide personal information in order to use the Site.
There is no contact form, support ticket system, or contact database on the Site. The only contact method provided is email:
Use this address for questions about this policy, to report a data error, or to exercise any of the rights described in section 11.
If you write, your message and whatever information you choose to include arrive in an ordinary Gmail inbox rather than through any form or service connected to the Site. Correspondence is used only to read and respond to your message. It is never used to build a mailing list, shared, sold, or added to a marketing database.
Email is retained for as long as it remains useful for responding to you or keeping a reasonable record of the exchange. You may request deletion of a message at any time at the same address; because there is only one copy, this is straightforward. As the inbox is a Gmail account, Google processes email in transit and at rest on the same basis it does for any Gmail user.
Netlify hosts the Site and processes ordinary server and security logs when you access it. These may include your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating-system information, pages or resources requested, referring information, and the date and time of requests.
This information is used to operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) is used to understand how visitors use the Site and to measure traffic and performance. Subject to your consent choices, GA4 may process pages viewed, interactions and events, browser and device information, approximate geographic information, referring information, and analytics identifiers.
Google Signals is currently enabled in the GA4 property. Google Signals supplements Analytics reporting using data from visitors who are signed in to a Google Account and have turned on Ads Personalization. Where those conditions are met, it can provide demographic and interest reporting and measurement across devices. See section 9 for how this interacts with U.S. state privacy law.
Analytics cookies are set only after you permit them. If you decline, GA4 operates in a consent-aware cookieless mode.
The Site stores a small number of preferences locally in your browser using localStorage. These are not cookies, are never transmitted to any server, and are not used for tracking:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
scorigami-theme | Remembers your selected visual theme. |
scorigami-team | Remembers your selected team. |
scorigami-shading | Remembers your board shading preference. |
scorigami-prefs | Remembers Settings selections and dismissed notices. |
These exist solely so the Site looks the way you left it. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them, and the Site continues to work without them.
The Site itself writes no cookies of its own. Every cookie described in section 5 is set by a third-party service.
Most policies are silent about this. Two Google-hosted resources are requested as soon as a page begins loading, before you have had a chance to respond to the cookie banner:
Neither request sets an analytics or advertising cookie, and no analytics data is collected until you consent. Cookiebot loads before any tag in the container is allowed to fire, so Google Analytics is held in a denied-by-default state until you answer the banner. But the two requests above do occur first, and this section exists so that fact is stated plainly rather than implied.
Information processed through the Site and its service providers is used to operate and maintain the Site, protect it against abuse and security threats, diagnose and resolve technical problems, understand how visitors use it, measure traffic and performance, and improve the Site and its content.
Personal information is not sold for money. Section 9 addresses the broader definitions of “sale” and “sharing” used by some U.S. state privacy laws.
Cookies on the Site fall into two groups: those necessary for the consent mechanism itself, and optional analytics cookies that are set only with your permission. If advertising is enabled in future, a third group will apply — see section 8.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. This reopens the consent banner with your current choices.
The Site remains fully usable. Google Analytics falls back to consent-aware cookieless measurement, and the locally stored preferences described in section 2 continue to work, as they are unaffected by cookie consent.
The table below is generated automatically by Cookiebot from its scans of this Site, and is the authoritative and current list. It updates as the Site and its third-party services change.
Netlify provides hosting and infrastructure, and processes technical information and server logs associated with requests to the Site.
Google provides several services used here: Google Analytics 4 for analytics, Google Tag Manager for managing tags, Google Fonts for typography, and Gmail for receiving messages sent to the contact address. Google processes information associated with these services under its own privacy practices.
Cookiebot is the consent-management platform. It displays the consent banner, records consent choices, generates the cookie declaration, and controls when optional tags are permitted to load.
Buy Me a Coffee is linked from the Site for visitors who wish to support it voluntarily. No payments are processed on the Site. If you follow the link, any information you provide is handled by Buy Me a Coffee under its own privacy policy.
For visitors in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, the legal bases are:
The Site has been prepared for Google AdSense, including publication of an ads.txt file, but no advertisements are currently being served.
If AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve advertisements, personalize them where permitted, measure their performance, limit repetition, and detect fraud. Google states that its advertising cookies may serve ads based on prior visits to this or other sites, and offers controls for personalized-advertising preferences.
Advertising cookies would be placed in Cookiebot’s Marketing category and set only with consent. This policy, section 9, and the cookie declaration will be updated before any advertising begins.
No personal information is sold for money, and the Site operates no advertising program.
One qualification, stated directly: some U.S. state privacy laws define “sharing” broadly enough to cover disclosures for cross-context behavioral advertising even where no money changes hands. Because Google Signals is enabled in the Analytics property, and Google Signals draws on the advertising profiles of signed-in Google users, it is arguable that this constitutes “sharing” under those definitions.
If you wish to prevent this, decline the Statistics category via the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Doing so stops analytics cookies and the Google Signals association entirely, and is treated as an opt-out of sale and sharing.
If advertising is enabled in future, or if this analysis changes, a dedicated opt-out mechanism and a distinctly labelled footer link will be provided.
Where required by applicable law, Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals are recognized through the consent-management configuration. The effect of a GPC signal depends on your browser, your jurisdiction, and the services configured on the Site.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to personal information held about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, object to or request restriction of certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it.
To exercise any of these, email baseballscorigami@gmail.com. Requests are answered within the period required by applicable law, and generally within 30 days where no specific deadline applies. Verification may be required where the law permits or requires it.
Note that most information described in this policy is held by third-party services rather than in any database of ours, and requests may need to be directed to those providers. Where that is the case, you will be told which provider and how to reach them.
If you are in the UK or EEA and believe your information has been handled improperly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. You are encouraged, but not required, to raise the matter here first.
The third-party services used by the Site are based in, or may process information in, the United States. Information processed through the Site may therefore be transferred to and processed in countries other than where you live, including by Google, Netlify, and Cookiebot. Where required by applicable law, those providers are responsible for maintaining appropriate transfer mechanisms.
The Site is not directed toward children, and no personal information is knowingly requested from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact baseballscorigami@gmail.com and it will be deleted.
Baseball data used by the Site comes from sources including Retrosheet and MySportsFeeds. These supply historical game results and scores. They are sources of baseball content, not services through which personal information about visitors is collected, and they receive no information about you.
The Site links to websites operated by third parties, including Buy Me a Coffee and Retrosheet. Once you leave the Site, that website’s own privacy policy and terms apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of services we do not control.
This policy will be updated when the Site, the services it uses, its privacy practices, or applicable legal requirements change. The Last updated date at the top will be revised accordingly. Material changes affecting how information is collected or used will be reflected in the consent banner where consent is required.
