The 1914 season produced 1,884 games between 24 clubs, running from April 13, 1914 to October 13, 1914. Those games ended in 104 different final scores, 18 of which occurred exactly once all season. The most common result was 3–2, posted 117 times — 6.2% of the season's games. The season also produced 44 tie games, which sit on the board's diagonal.
Teams combined for 7.73 runs per game in 1914, 1.06 runs below the 1901-onward average of 8.79. Shutouts accounted for 354 games (18.8% of the total), and 617 of the 1,840 decided games were settled by a single run (33.5%).
