The 1875 season produced 345 games between 13 clubs, running from April 19, 1875 to October 30, 1875. Those games ended in 129 different final scores, 48 of which occurred exactly once all season. The most common result was 3–2, posted 10 times — 2.9% of the season's games. The season also produced ten tie games, which sit on the board's diagonal.
Teams combined for 12.27 runs per game in 1875, 2.82 runs above the all-time average of 9.45. Shutouts accounted for 51 games (14.8% of the total), and 48 of the 335 decided games were settled by a single run (14.3%).
The highest-scoring game of the season came on June 12, 1875, when the Boston Red Stockings beat the CH2 24–7 — 31 combined runs. The widest margin was 24 runs: the Boston Red Stockings over the WS6 24–0 on May 1, 1875.
A total of 19 final scores appeared for the first time during 1875: 1–0, 1–1, 6–0, 8–8, 10–10, 11–0, 15–0, 15–9, 16–1, 17–2, 18–0, 19–10, and 7 others. Almost every score was new in these years, because there was so little history for a result to be new against. The board filled itself faster in the 1870s than it could ever be filled again.
This was the National Association's final season. It was replaced the following year by the National League.
