The 2022 season produced 2,470 games between 30 clubs, running from April 7, 2022 to November 5, 2022. Those games ended in 116 different final scores, 20 of which occurred exactly once all season. The most common result was 3–2, posted 140 times — 5.7% of the season's games.
Teams combined for 8.55 runs per game in 2022, almost exactly the 1901-onward average of 8.79. Shutouts accounted for 351 games (14.2% of the total), and 713 of the 2,470 decided games were settled by a single run (28.9%).
